The Wingfeather Saga is Coming to a Screen Near You!

If there’s one book series you haven’t read yet, this is the one you need to pick up. Drop everything else (except Scripture, of course!), cancel all your plans, curl up on the couch with some kids (kids are totally optional), and immerse yourself in the world of Aerwiar for the next week. I’m not kidding. Author Andrew Peterson possesses the world-building skills of Tolkien and the theology of C. S. Lewis, and he’s crafted a story that will enthrall and delight readers young and old(er) alike. The icing on the cake is this: the animated series is being released this December! So if you’re like me and can’t get enough of this beloved series, stay tuned . . . we only have a few months to go. Need a little something to whet your appetite? Build Your Own Library

Building and maintaining our library at New Hope is one of my favorite jobs, and Westminster Theological Bookstore is one of the vendors we order from – most likely, it’s our largest vendor. It’s one of those places I can go and trust that the material we select is doctrinally sound. This week Westminster just announced the launch of Westminster Kids, a site completely dedicated to children’s literature and theological resources. Have your children enjoyed the selections found in our church library? Perhaps they might enjoy copies of their own. Christmas is right around the corner . . .

Is the Bible’s account of the Exodus possible and consistent with archaeological evidence?

Modern scholars generally follow the assumption of naturalism—that is, events need to be explainable without resorting to God or miracles. It is no surprise that the Exodus narrative, one of the places God intervenes in history most spectacularly to deliver Israel, is under consistent attack.

The Most Important Subject for Your Child’s Education

by Jill Nelson, Truth78, September 19, 2022

The Bible is, by far, the most important subject matter for your child’s education this year. One way to set the highest prominence and priority on this is to establish a regular routine for your children of reading the Bible.

How can parents be more intentional about making this happen? What steps can be taken to better inspire and equip children to read the Bible? What are some realistic goals? How can children be guided to not only read the Bible but also be challenged to embrace and apply the truths learned?
