I’m already looking forward to Sunday. Sunday morning I’ll be preaching on the topic “Ready” from Matthew 25:1-13. Pray with me for this service and message.

Sunday night at 6:30 we will have a special evening service and special class. I am SO excited about this teaching. If you like to learn and have something all come together in one session you are going to love this time together. Familiar things are going to take on a whole new meaning for you and your heart will be blessed. I love doing this class. As a bonus, for those who like to do some hymns they will be interwoven into the material. No childcare is planned but I think the class will be so good that working out your child care will be worth the effort. We have a good group already signed up but there is room for everyone. I can’t say enough about this session on Life by another calendar…

Make your plans to be part of another great Sunday at New Hope.

What an amazing day!

Resurrection Life Church - We are back from Philadelphia. Vicki and I were met at the train station about 11:30 today by Pastor Otto. We drove to Resurrection Life Church to tour the progress that has been made and look at things that still need to be done. Progress has been made and we will show some pictures to the church on Sunday. Many things have been provided miraculously.

There is a project we can take on but we will need to act quickly. I need to assemble a team to go to Philly on Saturday, March 1st. Our task is to reassemble all the pews (bring your drill to install screws). There are many parts to put together including all the racks for hymnals, communion cups, offering envelopes - so lots of screws! We will also need some to clean the pews before the assemble them. They need to be assembled in the sanctuary so the gym room can be cleared as a new floor is about to be installed there. There is heat in the building now! God has again laid before us something we can do for others. Please look at your schedule and let me know if you can go with us. Send me an email or let me know on Sunday. This is an important task that needs to be done on this date for progress to continue.

Vicki was able to see the work at Highway Tabernacle for the first time and we shared a wonderful lunch with Pastor Otto and his wife, Pat. We got back about 5pm just as the sleet began to come down in earnest.

On another subject. I spoke with MFI today while on the train. One of the containers was supposed to come off the dock today but the price was really high. The fee is normally $2,800 but they wanted $14,000 this time. Things are a mess in Haiti. I am waiting for news from Don & Karen directly but I was told that the materials for the roof project that we priced out at $10,000 in August are now closer to $16,000. So we have a lot to pray about & I hope to have more concrete details by Sunday.

Pray about being on the team to Philly!

Pray about the containers and for the safety of all involved.

Pray for the added funds we will need to do this job but that we do not have. In all of this - can you help? or in using your creativity maybe you know someone outside our church who could help make a difference.

Well here’s a little update as we look toward Sunday. As part of our service we will enjoy some special music from guitarist and vocalist Heather Murry. Heather is an excellent musician and is engaged to Steve Zahm. You will enjoy Heather’s music and have the opportunity to get to know her better.

In terms of the sermon, God was working on me this morning and I have a new message I’ve worked on that will become part of this current series. The sermon is entitled, The Love of our Father’s Heart. In order to really grasp this issue of changing our own attitudes we need to see God’s heart in all of this. What is going on in God’s heart? The sermon will help you grasp and deal with the seeming conflict between God’s love and God’s anger. I believe this will be helpful.

Remember this is SPREAD THE LOVE Sunday. Our purpose is to get together with others within our church family for lunch or have some folks over Sunday evening for dessert in your home. The options are many. It’s not to late to take action. Don’t wait to be invited. Take the lead and invite others.
